To universalize education and to make education convenient for every section of society, the Government of India has established Open School Board in India. The objective of the open school is to eliminate all barriers that prevent candidates to take higher education and serve society by being a global school of higher learning in pursuit of academic excellence. Since Independence, India did magnificent progress in the sphere of fundamental education and today the country has an excellent network of world-class schools and open school board in India. This post aims to highlight the top five open school board in India. 

Board of Intermediate Education (Andhra Pradesh):

Board of Intermediate Education (Andhra Pradesh) is a state board that offers secondary, senior secondary, vocational, and life skills programmes. There is no upper age limit to pursues courses from Board of Intermediate Education (Andhra Pradesh). Students who could not complete schooling education for any reason, they can continue their education through the Board of Intermediate Education (Andhra Pradesh).    

A.P. Open School Society Govt. of Andhra Pradesh:

With the motto of “Be educated and Be Empowered”, A.P. Open School Society was established on 20 Feb 1991 to cater to the educational needs of drop-out boys and girls in the State under Open School System. The open school offers education programmes of A, B, and C levels equivalent to III, V, and VIII classes of formal system apart from SSC (Secondary) programme to the 14+ age group learners in Open and Distance Learning mode.



Bihar Board of Open Schooling & Examination:

Established in 2011, Bihar Board of Open Schooling & Examination is a renowned Open School Board in India. Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination (BBOSE) imparts vocational and academic courses right from the levels corresponding to Class 5+ up to classes below degree levels of universities. The board allows students to choose the combination of vocational courses along with academic subjects at Class X/XII level. Bihar Board of Open Schooling & Examination (BBOSE) offers diploma, degree, and certification courses for various duration & competency levels.

Chhattisgarh State Open School:

With the motto of “Education for All”, Chhattisgarh State Open School was established in 2008. The board provides admission in high school and higher secondary programmes in the entire Chhattisgarh and allows students to pass the examination in nine attempts. The board offers facilities for the transfer of credit and allows students to choose the combination of subjects according to their interests. 


   

Board of Open School and Skill Education:

Board of Open School and Skill Education (BOSSE) is an emerging open school board recognized by Sikkim education board. BOSSE was established according to Sikkim Act 2020 passed on 21-9-2020 by the Sikkim Legislative Assembly stated under act No 14 of 2020. The board offers programmes at Secondary, Sr. Secondary, skills, and vocational education. The Board offers education through printed materials, audio and video programmes.

  BOSSE, or the Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education, is the best way for students who are unable to attend normal schools for whatever reason and want access to the same educational possibilities as those who do.
